Elegant Mercedes curves
MB W124 was designed and built between 1985 and 1997, it’s the internal chassis designation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It was replaced by Class E W120 in 1995. It was revealed to the press in November 1984 in Sevilla, Spain and immediately stirred attention. Mercedes-Benz's four-wheel drive system, the 4Matic was first introduced on the W124 in March 1987. The engines are designed to maximize performance, due to an oxygen sensor in the exhaust system. They come in 4-speed manual transmission (except for the 230CE and 200CE, which are 5-speed manual). The four-wheel drive system (4MATIC) was available from 1987 with 2.6 and 3.0-litre petrol and 3.0-litre diesel engines with 12 valves. It’s a comfortable, simple yet elegant choice – have it the German way!
